Cornerstone June Meeting,BBQ, and Ride Get-Together: Saturday, June 5, 11am onwards

On Saturday, June 5, 2010, the Cornerstone Chapter of the Widows Sons held their monthly meeting, as well as a BBQ and ride out to Katie’s Crossing near Ardrossan. Though the weather was threatening all week to be less than amiable to riding, it turned out to be a brilliant day for Biking and Brotherhood. In all, twenty bikes lined the front of my home, guaranteeing that my neighbours will have much to talk about over the summer (note: I did take time to meet with each of my neighbours to explain who we are before the meeting and was able to learn that several of my neighbours used to ride themselves ?).

Check out some pictures below

After a short meeting to discuss the summer’s events and introduce new members and petitioners, members who had not yet had their Grand Chapter rocker replaced with the Cornerstone rocker were enabled to do so thanks to the kind efforts of my wife, Julie, and so, when the ride commenced, all present (save the newest members and petitioner) were proudly wearing the patches of Cornerstone riding under the care of our Road Captain, Ken Glazebrook, Jr.

After a short visit in the train cars at Katie’s Crossing, members made their separate ways. Some members returned to our home for a final chat, during which we were able to meet up with a late comer or two. All in all, the day went fabulously well, with special thanks to my wife, Julie, for putting up with us (though we were all very well-behaved) and to Tammy and Martin Brown, and Saskia and Jelle Spijker for help before and after the event to make sure everything ran smoothly.

Remember that another BBQ is scheduled to take place at Barry Gogal’s place on June 19th…details TBA.
