N.S. Rally Laurel Montana

After a long hard winter this rally was the breath of fresh air my tired soul needed. The fellowship and comoradoary was exactly what this weary traveler needed.

Hats off to the Montana brothers who did such a superb job to organize, manage and host this very successful event. As a visitor I was impressed and thrilled by the wonderful meals, and the rides organized.

Profiled by Police??

It started one evening last week, Reg K and I were out for a ride, we did a loop around Edmonton, about 130 Kms. We split off on the Manning freeway, he going south, me East. A patrol car pulled in behind me and followed for about a mile, before throwing the lights on. Two constables, one senior other younger.

Loud pipes in Edmonton

Sorrry, no I don't mean the scottish bagpipers lament, I'm talking about the sweet rumble of V-twin pipes, Which Edmonton city councillors have voted to create a bylaw specifically targetting motorcycles.

Nicknames, roadnames screen names and real names

I understand and appreciate what Bro Adam was striving for in allowing us to change our "handle" on the forum, but I'm not entirely thrilled with the result. For example, I saw the road name of a brother who is soon to have a birthday and thought to myself "Maybe I'll post him a message saying hi" but by clicking on the profile, I have no way to know who he really is.

Chatterbox

I am taking a tour of Utah with my brother. Does anyone have a motorcycle to motorcycle communication device (Chatterbox) that they could loan me?

Cornerstone June Meeting,BBQ, and Ride Get-Together: Saturday, June 5, 11am onwards

On Saturday, June 5, 2010, the Cornerstone Chapter of the Widows Sons held their monthly meeting, as well as a BBQ and ride out to Katie’s Crossing near Ardrossan. Though the weather was threatening all week to be less than amiable to riding, it turned out to be a brilliant day for Biking and Brotherhood.

Masonic Spring Workshop 2010

I along with many of my brothers and fellow Widows Sons members had a great time at the 2010 Masonic Spring Workshop in Kananaskis.

Accommodations at the Delta Hotel were excellent, along with the food and the friendliness of the hotel staff.

Season Opener - Bike written off

After the April meeting at Boston Pizza, I was heading west to go home on Stony Plain Rd., and as I crossed straight through the intersection at 142nd Street an elderly lady began her left turn north. Needless to say, in the bike vs car showdown, my bike lost, I hit her grill at about 45 degrees and went for a bit of a flight.

Winter Escape

Brothers if you have given some thought to going south to ride in the middle of our brutal winter you have my encouragement. I just returned from a two week trip. My bike was on the road for only 5 days but a great 5 days it was.

No More Rain Suits

It's happened. Fully enclosed motorcycles are now being sold in Europe and I suspect they will be available in North America in 2010.

Not cheap but they are luxurious. There are a few different small manufacturers in the game. Perhaps in first place is PERAVES from Birmingham England. http://monotracer.com
