Freemasons Riding Motorcycles
It goes without saying that many people have the unfortunate impression that those who ride motorcycles are of unruly, dangerous or even criminal nature. This could not be further from the truth! In fact, most people who ride motorcycles do so out of love of freedom, adventure, fellowship and nature. These are the values that draw Widows Sons together: bound by Masonic Brotherhood, the Widows Sons may already be at work as a positive force in your community. We are constituted solely of Master Masons, who by definition are just and upright men who, in our cases, happen to have passion for the ride. We enjoy the ride and are happy to share the road with all courteous riders and drivers.
Just as all of Freemasonry is made up of people from all walks of life: from lawyers and doctors to cooks and garbage men, so the Widows Sons built up of people brought together by a common interest, regardless of race, religion, political affiliation, or socio-economic status. It is our belief that through the values of Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth that we can contribute to making our communities a better place.
The Widows Sons is an international Masonic riders' association. Our goals include but are certainly not limited to forming a bridge between Ancient Freemasonry in the Province of Alberta and the sport of Motorcycle Riding. It is our intent to not only bring interest and enthusiasm for motorcycling to the Fraternity, but to raise awareness of Freemasonry among those who already enjoy this great outdoor past-time.
As Master Masons we are sworn to look out for each-other: this leads us to our primary relief effort -- to provide assistance however we can to the widows and orphans of Master Masons. It is our belief that through service to our communities we will, on the whole, better ourselves on the path to Masonic enlightenment. May the path be paved and suitable for our bikes...
